Thank you for visiting my chess blog! This site, I hope, will help you to gain an appreciation for chess. Chess is more than openings, tactics, and gambits it's a life long journey that can and will teach you so much more.

Through playing and organizing chess events I've learned that chess is not confined to the chess board. I have been fortunate enough to have developed a viewpoint associated with chess that I believe is relevant in every aspect of my life.

Some will read this and dismiss it as non-sense, but I'm hoping a few will be curious enough to come back and see that what I'm saying is true. As I write these blogs to share with you I'm convinced that I will find new insights and learn as much from them as you do.  

So why should you put any weight in what I plan to post? The answer to this very important question is simple. I have been playing chess for a very long time, but most importantly I have a unique perspective of the game that most people don't have. I am confined to a wheelchair. This site isn't about my daily challenges so I don't plan on going into detail about it. What I will do is share with you what I've learned as a result of having to view the world and specifically chess from this vantage point.

My goal for starting this site is to simply demonstrate to you why I believe chess is more than a game. Chess is a journey to be enjoyed so let's start this journey together.
